Top of the list of romantic things to do in Hampshire is walking hand-in-hand in the countryside.  You’ll have plenty of choice as Hampshire is home to two beautiful national parks, the South Downs, and the New Forest.  Even better, it it’s summer, as you can take a picnic for two.   Just watch out for the ponies!

On second thoughts, you might want to forget the picnic, as Hampshire is a foodie’s paradise.  Our favourite is the Elderflower in Lymington, which offers a delectable tasting menu at reasonable price.

Alternatively, you could head to the Hampshire coast for a lovey-dovey stroll by the sea.  There’s plenty for couples to do by the Hampshire coast.  Visit the naval city of Portsmouth to see the Mary Rose or Milford on Sea for a walk to Hurst Castle.  Plus, don’t forget to visit Lymington, a pretty Georgian town, with cobbled streets and a marina.

Another of the best things to do in Hampshire for couples is visit the Beaulieu Motor Museum.  As well as its collection of heritage cars, visitors can visit the estate or enjoy a falconry display.  If cars are not your bag, what about a date at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery?

One of the most romantic days out in Hampshire is to visit the village of Chawton, home to novelist Jane Austen and her brother.  Just up the road from Chawton is the historic home of naturalist Gilbert White, a pioneering naturalist.
