The Brick People at Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking
Head to Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking to take part in their Lego Exhibition and Build event at Feb half term. Tickets include brick building, LEGO and LEGO DUPLO play areas. Each session lasts for 60 minutes and is hosted by The Brick People. Tickets are £3.75 (Children below 6 go free)

Elizabeth I's Spy Mission at Hampton Court Palace
All eyes are on Elizabeth I at Hampton Court Palace this February half term.
Be transported back to 1562, where the Tudor court is buzzing with whispers and secret meetings. Queen Elizabeth I has fallen victim to smallpox, casting a shadow of uncertainty over Hampton Court Palace. Could you help Elizabeth’s spymaster unravel the mystery of who might be conspiring to take the throne?

Family-friendly museums in Surrey
Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey
Step back in time to the early days of aviation at the Brooklands Museum in Weybridge. This is a great museum for all the family. During February half term, Brooklands will be hosting “Come Fly with Us” family workshops, activities and tours.
Brooklands is also home to the London Bus Museum.

Watts Gallery, Guildford
Calling all artists! If you have arty youngsters, Watts Gallery in Guildford is hosting drop-in craft sessions during February half term. Sign up for painting, pottery and sketching at their family days. Suitable for children under 12. £8 per child (with adult).

The Lightbox, Woking
There’s more opportunities for children to get creative at the Lightbox Gallery in Woking. Learn the art of printmaking on 13th Feb or take part in the free family drop-in Big Art Town on 14th February.
Older children can join illustrator John O’Leary to learn the art of paper engineering on 15th February.

Outdoor activities in Surrey for February half term
If it’s dry, one of the best things to do in Surrey at half term is wrap up warm, find some wellies and head out for a super fun day in the great outdoors. Luckily, Surrey is bursting with outdoor places to take kids, so it’s always easy to find somewhere to go. Plus, often this provides a fantastic free activity for the half term holiday.

We're going on a Bear Hunt at Gatton Park, Redhill
Inspired by Michael Rosen’s favourite book, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”, younger children will love this half term activity at Gatton Park in Surrey.
Listen to the story and take part in a craft activity before heading off to explore a trail around the garden. Another final craft can be completed in the cabin or taken away. Ideal for children aged 2 – 4 years. (Price £8.50 per child)

Mr Hamilton's Science and Curiosities Trail at Painshill Park
Have you got any budding young scientists in the family? Or, kids that are always asking questions? Well, head to Painshill Park this February half-term to enjoy a family walking trail full of amazing facts.
Discover how plants draw up water, how boats stay afloat and how rainbows are formed. Boards, created and painted by the Painshill team, will lead you around the trail and allow you to walk pass the different planets of the solar system.
Charles Hamilton, who designed Painshill in the 18th century, loved science. He built a Waterwheel to create his lake and was one of the first people to install a lightning conductor on his tallest building.

Lightwater Country Park
Lightwater Country Park has some great family-friendly walking trails, a playing field, ponds, playground and mini-golf.

Wild about Britain at Cranleigh Arts Centre
Looking for a place to take animal-lovers this February half term? Look no further than Cranleigh Arts Centre which is hosting its “Wild about Britain” event on 13th February.
Children will meet an array of British creatures, including a tawny owl, kestrel, hedgehog, common toad and smooth snake, who will reveal the wonders of our native wildlife. There are also opportunities to handle some of the animals.

Gruffalo Trail at Alice Holt Forest, Farnham
Set within 247 acres of stunning forest, Alice Holt is one of the best free places in Surrey to go in the school holidays. You can follow the Gruffalo trail, climb the animal sculptures, climb the trim trail or play in the adventure playground. If it’s sunny, take a picnic or you can eat in the café.

Discovery Week at Godstone Farm
If you’ve got younger kids one of the best things to do in spring is visit a farm. In Surrey, there’s a good choice of fun farms to visit, including Godstone Farm near Reigate.

Farming Week at Bocketts Farm
One of our favourite farms to visit in Surrey is Bocketts farm near Fetcham and this is a fantastic place to visit at February half-term, as it’s the birthing season.
In fact, over 80 new born lambs are due during the February half-term at Bocketts Farm. Plus you can “meet the shepherd” at various sessions during the day and watch Birds of Prey flying demonstrations. As well as super cute farm animals, Bocketts Farm has indoor and outdoor play areas for little children to play.

National Trust half-term activities in Surrey
If you’re a member, a visit to a National Trust site always makes a good day out in the school holidays. You’ll find places to run about, play, and discover nature.
Hatchlands Park, East Clandon
Hatchlands Park is always a fantastic place for kids to get some fresh air and let off steam at half-term. After a walk around the parkland, head to the natural play area with balance beams, stepping stones and a tree house.

Polesdenopoly at Polesden Lacey, Bookham
One of the best National Trust properties in Surrey for February half term activities is Polesden Lacey in Bookham.
Inspired by the board game, Monopoly, Polesden Lacey is hosting its own interactive version, “Polesdenopoly”. Families will follow the trail to retrace the steps of past kings and queens at their favourite sites around Polesden. The trail costs £5 per group. (suitable for 5+).

Box Hill, Tadworth
What about a day of outdoor fun at Box Hill this February half term? Wrap up warm and head to Surrey’s famous hill, where the family can enjoy one of the way-marked trails or the Box Hill natural play trail. Remember to wear wellies!

Theme parks in Surrey for February half term
Although the Surrey theme parks don’t open officially until the end of March, they are running some special events during February half term.
Chessington Zootastic
Chessingon World of Adventures is open just for animal-lovers at February half term. Kids can get up close with over 1000 animals, as well as joining in the animal talks and feeds. Sea life Aquarium is also open. (No rides or attractions are open.)

Brick Days at Legoland, Windsor
Younger children can enjoy Brick Days at Legoland during the half term holidays. As well as over 30 rides and attractions to experience, kids will meet their favourite Legoland characters or take part in brick building activities. .

Hobbledown
Hobbledown near Epsom was one of our favourite places to visit when the kids were younger. It is a great all-weather attraction, as it has both indoor and outdoor activities. Children can choose from outdoor play areas, an indoor playbarn, The Thinkery and zoo and farm enclosures.

Birdworld, Farnham
Birdworld in Farnham will be open during February half-term and winter prices apply, so you’ll get 20% off admission for online bookings. As well as birds, they have a small petting farm and a playground.
