In Surrey, February half term 2026 runs from Monday 16^th February until Friday 20^th February.

The The Brick People return to Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking with their hugely popular Lego® Exhibition and Build event.  Children can enjoy hands-on brick building, DUPLO play areas and creative challenges.

This is an excellent budge-friendly indoor half-term activity in Surrey for any Lego® lovers.

Step back in time at Hampton Court Palace and take part in a royal quest inspired by Tudor history.  Children can also explore the palace, roam the 60 acres of gardens, and burn off energy in the Magic Garden playground.

A brilliant mix of education, history, and outdoor play for a memorable half term day out.

If your kids need to burn off energy, Air Hop in Guildford is the ideal choice.  With a variety of trampolines, foam pits, and bounce zones, it’s ideal for energetic children of all ages.

Alternatively, Jump In Trampoline Park in Camberley offers another excellent trampoline park option in Surrey.

Perfect for a rainy day, the Gamers’ Lounge features over 3,000 retro console games from the 1980s to the mid-2000s.  There will be plenty of consoles and controllers to go round and both single-player and multi-player games.

Squires Garden Centre hosts Create & Grow half term activities, including flower-pot painting and a free garden gnome trail

A lovely mix of crafts and garden fun for younger children.

Home to aviation history and the London Bus Museum, Brooklands Museum offers engaging half term events, workshops and interactive tours.  It’s a must visit for children fascinated by planes, cars, and engineering.

Inspired by the exhibition Women of Influence: The Pattle Sisters , the Watts Gallery is running family art sessions packed with colour, creativity and hands-on fun.

A combination of block printing and pen illustration work. You will start by printing the simple oval shapes to form the bees’ body, then decorate the bodies with black pens. Use your imagination to create as many different patterns as you can!

Inspired by Julia Donaldson’s popular book, “Scarecrows’ Wedding”, younger children will love this half term activity at Gatton Park in Surrey.

Listen to the story and take part in a craft activity before heading off to explore a trail around the garden.  Another final craft can be completed in the cabin or taken away.  Ideal for children aged 2 – 4 years.  (Price £8.50 per child)

Families can explore Painshill‘s beautiful landscape whilst spotting fairy tale characters along the trail.  Trail sheets are available from the Visitor Centre and included with general admission.

A fantastic family day out in Surrey, Lightwater Country Park offers scenic walking trails, a big playing field, playgrounds,  and duck ponds.  They even have a mini-golf course (pay-to-play).  It’s a lovely option for a cheap half-term outing with kids of all ages, perfect for outdoor fun and fresh air.

One of the best free half term activities in Surrey, Alice Holt Forest offers the much-loved Gruffalo Trail, adventure playgrounds, sculpture climbs, and woodland walks.

After a scenic walk around the parkland, children can enjoy the natural play area, complete with balance beams, stepping stones, and a treehouse—perfect for imaginative play and exploration. It’s an ideal spot for families looking for outdoor fun at half-term and is free for members.

One of the best National Trust properties in Surrey for February half term activities is Polesden Lacey in Bookham.

Inspired by the board game, Monopoly, Polesden Lacey is hosting its own interactive version,  “Polesdenopoly”.  Families will follow the trail to retrace the steps of past kings and queens at their favourite sites around Polesden.  The trail costs £5 per group. (suitable for 5+).

How about a day of outdoor fun at Box Hill this February half term?  Bundle up and head to one of Surrey’s most famous landmarks, where the whole family can enjoy one of the way-marked trails or explore the exciting Box Hill natural play trail.

Pick up a brass rubbing sheet from the kiosk and head out into the Arboretum in search of some of Winkworth’s most special trees.

Although most Surrey theme parks don’t open officially until the end of March, many are running special events during February half term, offering early access to family-friendly fun and attractions.

Chessington World of Adventures is a great choice during February half term for animal lovers.  In addition to close encounters with over 1,000 animals, animal talks and the Sea Life Centre, a small selection of rides are also open.

This makes Chessington a good option for families looking for a mix of wildlife experiences and gentle rides during the school holidays.  You could even extend your visit and book a hotel stay at the resort.

 Hobbledown near Epsom was one of our favourite family-friendly attractions in Surrey, when the kids were younger.

It’s a fantastic all-weather destination, offering both indoor and outdoor activities.  Children can enjoy outdoor play areas, an exciting indoor playbarn, the Thinkery for interactive fun, as well as the zoo and farm enclosures for animal encounters.

Whether rain or shine, Hobbledown provides a full day of half term fun for the whole family!

Step into a winter wonderland at Birdworld in Farnham during February half-term with 16 models varying in height from 60cm, each sporting winter hats or scarves!
They’ll be hidden around Penguin Island and Penguin Beach – can you find them all, including a special one of our own Squid?
