Hello, I’m Jan. Welcome to Chimptrips.
Chimptrips is a UK‑based travel and days‑out blog sharing real experiences, detailed itineraries and honest recommendations. Based in Surrey, right on the Berkshire/Hampshire borders, we cover everything from local days out to UK travel, and long‑haul adventures across Asia, Europe and the US.
The blog began seven years ago as a family travel site and has naturally evolved as our family has grown up. Today, Chimptrips features a mix of family travel, couple escapes, girly getaways, trips with friends, and culture‑focused experiences. These are all supported by personal travel knowledge and our own photography.
Please contact me at jan@chimptrips.com if you’d like to collaborate, have somewhere you’d like us to visit or want to know more about us.
When we’re not travelling away, we love discovering what’s on our doorstep – from local hikes and family attractions to weekend getaways.
Thanks for joining us – we hope Chimptrips helps inspire your next adventure.
“At Chimptrips we have a passion for travel and discovering new places. We love to explore and have adventures, both at home and abroad and want to inspire others”
MEET THE
Chimptrips Team
I’m Jan, a part-time working mum and freelance writer with a lifelong passion for exploring new places.
Alongside me is my husband Kevin, the travel planner of the team, the one who’s always researching routes, and booking flights and stays. And then there are our teenage sons, who bring the energy and spirit of adventure to every trip.
Kevin has always travelled for business and pleasure and we were always keen to share our passion for travel with our children. They have been lucky enough to go on lots of adventures both near and far. The biggest and best adventures so far have been our US Road trip, our visit to the desert and our jungle trip to Borneo. However, we have loved all our adventures in England, Wales, Europe, UAE, America and the Far East. Whether its walking, cycling, skiing, we love to get out there and hope to share them with you.
Hi, I’m Jacob – I enjoy hiking and cycling. My favourite destination so far is Thailand and I hope to return to Asia in the future.
