This guide lists all the best events in Surrey this Easter to help you plan your Bank Holiday weekend or school holidays. Plus a few Easter events that are further afield.
This year the Easter school holidays in Surrey are from 29th March – 14th April 2024, with the bank holiday weekend at the start (29th March – 1st April 2024).

Easter egg hunts in Surrey 2024
With the warmer spring weather, it’s such a treat to get out and enjoy some outdoors time with the family. And there’s nothing more fun than searching for Easter eggs. In Surrey, many of the local attractions are hosting Easter egg hunts and trails. Here are some of our favourites:-
Giant Easter Egg Trail at RHS Wisley
- RHS Garden Wisley, nr Woking
- 29th March – 14th April 2024
It’s hard to miss these supersize, colourful eggs, hidden round Wisley Gardens, as they are enormous! This year the giant eggs feature designs from last year’s competition.
To join in the Giant Easter Hunt, pick up a trail at reception. Follow the clues around the gardens to find the eggs. Don’t forget to stop off on the way for a play in the playground or visit to the amazing glasshouse.
At the end children can collect an Easter treat and have a go at planting a carrot. There are also some craft activities in the CLORE learning centre.

Easter Trail at Albury Vineyard
- Albury Vineyard, Surrey Hills
- 29th & 30th March and 1st April 2024
Enjoy magnificent views of the Surrey Hills whilst the kids do an Easter trail around this popular Surrey vineyard. Tickets will be available in advance. A pop-up cheese and wine bar, face-painting and pizza will also be available.
Easter Bunny's Train Ride at Denbies Wine Estate
- Denbies Wine Estate, Surrey Hills
- 1st – 12th April 2024
Enjoy a trip around the vineyard on Denbies Easter Bunny Train Ride with a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself.
Spot the golden Easter eggs throughout the vineyard, ticking them off in your Easter Train Passport. Find all 3 gold eggs to win an Easter prize!
Tickets: £5.50 (adults) and £9.50 (kids)
There will also be a visit from the Brick People on 6th April, where children can join in with lego building activities.
Find a golden bunny at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey
- Hampton Court Palace
- 29th March – 14th April 2024
Children will love searching the gardens of the royal palace in the return of the Easter Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court. Each gold bunny statue will link to a famous character from the palace and children will learn a story about the character.
The trail lasts about 1.5 hours and there’s a chocolate reward at the end.
Other spring events at Hampton Court Palace include the annual Tulip Festival from 15th April.
Big Easter Egg Statue Trail at Painshill Park, Cobham
- Painshill Park, Cobham, Surrey
- 16th March – 14th April 2024
Follow the Easter statue trail at Painshill Park to find all the character eggs. Giant statue eggs are hidden around the Painshill landscape, but can you find them all. The Painshill is 1 mile, so perfect for younger children and buggies.
Other Easter activities at Painshill include a Wild Easter Camp Easter camp, with exciting Forest School adventures.

National Trust Easter Trails 2024
As always, one of the best family things to do at Easter in Surrey is one of the National Trust Easter egg hunts. Surrey is spoilt with many magnificent stately homes, so an Easter trail is an ideal way to make them more appealing to kids.
Easter treasure hunts are on at Hatchlands, Claremont, Polesden Lacey and Runnymede.
Cooking up a feast with Grizwald the Griffin at Polesden Lacey
The Easter trail at Polesden Lacey runs from 23rd March – 21st April 2024. Afterwards, kids can head to the new natural play area, with swings, tunnels and giant nests.
Spring has sprung and Grizwald the Griffin has come to life. Grizwald is cooking up an Easter feast, but he’s never made one before, so he’ll need your help!
Follow the interactive trail around the grounds, where there will be plenty of fun activities for all of the family. Once you help Grizwald prepare for an Easter feast, this friendly Griffin may even say thank you and reward you with an Easter treat.
Easter Trail at Hatchlands Park
Look out for the giant eggs at Hatchlands Park on their family Easter trail. Children can have a go at Easter games, challenges and even some poetry at the Easter event.
This runs over Easter weekend and costs £3 per trail. Afterwards, kids can explore the Wizard Wix’s play area, complete with its own tree house and bug barrow.
Easter Trail at Claremont Landscape Garden
The bunny-inspired Easter trail at Claremont Landscape Garden near Esher is running from 23rd March – 14th April 2024. The Easter event will engage the family with fun challenges testing your agility, wits and creativity. The cost is £3 per trail, which includes a trail sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg.

Easter Egg Hunt at Gatton Park, Reigate
- Gatton Park, Reigate
- Good Friday (29th March) and Easter Monday (1st April) (10.30 am– 4pm)
If you’re looking for Easter fun near Reigate, head over to Gatton Park during Easter weekend. Children can take part in the Easter Egg Hunt and all the family can enjoy the seasonal activities and magnificent gardens.
Admission is £6.00 for adults and £3.00 for children (online in advance).
Hop into Easter at Dapdune Wharf, Guildford
- Dapdune Wharf, Guildford
- 29th March – 1st April 2024
Hop down to Dapdune Wharf to find Easter adventures and nature-inspired activities. Bounce through the rabbit racecourse, test out your archery skills, plant a seed, add your pledge to nature and discover what’s in our mystery wellies plus so much more.

Easter Egg Hunt at Winkworth Arboretum, near Godalming

Hop to Winkworth to help Basil the Bunny start his first day as the Easter Bunny’s assistant. Become Basil’s alarm clock, race him to work, and meet his Easter friends.

Easter Rolling at Box Hill, Tadworth

- 29th March – 1st April 2024
The top of Box Hill is always a great place to find Easter events in Surrey. Choose from the Easter egg hunt or take park in the grand old tradition of egg rolling down the hill on Easter weekend. Plus, the best decorated egg wins a prize!

Easter activities and events in Surrey 2024
"Create and Grow" activities at Squires Garden Centre
- Squire’s Garden Centre (various locations in Surrey)
- 2nd – 12th April 2024
Or, you could visit one of the Squire’s Garden Centres in Surrey to join in with their Create and Grow Easter activities. Younger children can paint a colourful Easter basket, which they can take home. Sessions last about 20 minutes and cost £6.50. You must book your session in advance.
Alternatively, they can join in a Spring Flower Hunt around the garden centre. This costs £2.50 and includes a sweet treat at the end.
See new born lambs at Bocketts Farm, Fetcham

If you’re looking for Easter fun in Surrey for younger children, you could try the Easter events at Bocketts Farm near Leatherhead. In fact, spring is an ideal time for a family day out at Bocketts Farm, as this is when hundreds of lambs are born. As well as newborn lambs, they have chicks and bunnies, perfect for an Easter day out.

Surrey Hills Spring Fair at the Rural Life Living Museum, Farnham

Eggsplorers at Chessington

The Eggsplorers Easter event is back for its second year at Chessington World of Adventures. If you visit in the Easter holidays, kids can meet the Easter bunny, follow the Easter Activity Trail, or watch one of the family shows. Plus they’ll have the regular rides, zoo and Sea Life.
Jump into the Easter Egg-stravaganza at Jump, Camberley

Join in the Easter fun at the Jump trampoline park in Camberley. Find the golden eggs hidden around the Adventure Park to win prizes, such as family passes and goody bags. Easter egg hunts are free with jump, climb or soft play sessions.

Take a ride at the Hampton Court Palace Easter Fun Fair

Of course, older children might prefer to head across the road to the annual Hampton Court funfair. As well as white-knuckle rides, you’ll find traditional children’s rides, games, stalls, a carousel and Ferris wheel.
There are plenty of kiosks to buy food or you could wander across to Hampton Court Palace, with its stunning spring gardens, maze and bunny hunt.
Admission to the fair is £2, but this doesn’t include rides or admission to Hampton Court.

Excellent things to do at Easter outside Surrey
If you want to travel outside of Surrey, here are some excellent ideas for family days out at Easter.
The Giant Easter Duck Trail at London Wetlands Centre
In addition to normal selection of ducks and birds, this Easter you’ll find some rather special Easter ducks at the Wetland Centre. Pick up a trail card and follow the clues to find the hidden ducks.
A Hopping Easter Adventure at Fishers Farm in West Sussex

For a great choice of Easter fun outside of Surrey, head to Fishers Farm Park in West Sussex. Here, they are hosting their annual Hopping Easter Adventure.
At this fantastic Easter event, families can see new born lambs or meet Easter chicks and bunnies. You can jump aboard the Tractor & Trailer Ride or bump around the Barrel Bug Safari.
If it’s sunny, kids can splash around in the splash area.
